What does the magnetic oil pan drain plug do?

The VWR Racingline magnetic oil pan drain plug is now available for the 1.8 and 2.0 TSI EA888 Gen3 and 2.0 TSI Gen3B engines. These engines use a plastic oil pan which means regular metal screw-in oil pan plugs simply cannot be used. With the new "True-Lock" fastening system from VWR Racingline you can finally protect your engine. This works by attracting and separating the tiny abrasive and ferrous metal particles carried by the oil, preventing them from circulating through your engine's lubrication systems.

The harder your engine works, the greater the risk of nasty metal particles, the greater the benefit of using a magnetic oil pan bolt.

Var Racingline's unique 'True-Lock' fitting works with a simple quarter turn to install the plug, then a polycarbonate locking ring ensures it stays tight and sealed at all times.

It's a lifetime plug - just replace the o-ring at every service. Installation couldn't be simpler - on your next oil change, insist on our new Magnetic Billet Sump Plug and just screw it in!
