Due to this heat protection, the turbocharger reaches the operating temperature faster and cools down more slowly and gently. This leads to a longer service life of the turbocharger. The jacket also provides splash protection for the turbocharger, eg due to cold rainwater. Thus, there is less corrosion and no thermal shock problems. The cables, cables and hoses in the vicinity of the turbocharger are protected from overheating.

Due to the jacket of the exhaust side of the turbocharger, the compressor housing is less warm and the air supply is accordingly cooler. The risk of burns due to a too hot exhaust housing of the charger is prevented.
